The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees invites applications from
qualified candidates for the post of:

  

Senior Finance Assistant-“Emergency Funded Post”

1-Vacancy No. : 127/2013/X
2-Duty Station : Field Office Jerusalem
3-Department : Job Creation Programme (JCP)
4-Basic Salary : Starting from 712.9JD (and exchange rate adjustment)+ that varies in accordance to the pay policies set by the Agency.
Other fringe benefits include provident fund & health insurance.
5-Allowances : Family Allowances payable up to 7 children and spouse.
An allowance of 1000 NIS payable in JD at UNRWA rate.

6-Qualifications:
-A university degree in accountancy, business administration or other related field.
-Two years experience in accounting and finance work, including experience with computerized finance systems.
-Good command of spoken and written Arabic and English.

Competencies:
-Ability to use computers and work on various spreadsheet applications such as Excel.
-Ability to cope with multiple tasks effectively.
-Effective written and oral communication.
-Ability to identify clients’ needs and to offer appropriate solutions and establish and maintain productive relationship with staff suppliers and contractors.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
-Membership of an officially recognized accounting body such as Association of Accounting Technician (AAT).
-Knowledge of UNRWA's accounting and budgeting system and procedures.
-Working experiences with computerized financial systems.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
-Possession of a valid driving license.
-Willingness to work beyond regular working hours.

OTHER NOTES:
-Preference will be given to Internal Staff.
-Internal candidate is requested to mention that he/she is an internal staff.
-Selected candidate will be offered a three months contract extendable based on:
-a)Availability of fund.
-b)Incumbent performance.
-c)The continued need of the post.
-Appointment to this post is subject to probationary period of six months if the post is
