The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees invites applications from
qualified candidates for the post of:

Architect

1-Vacancy No. : 132/2013/X
2-Duty Station : Field Office-Jerusalem
3-Department : Field Engineering & Construction Services
4-Grade & Salary : Limited Duration Contract (LDC) - Band “E” – S1.817.30 JD
that varies in accordance to the pay policies set by the Agency.
5. Allowances : Dependency Allowances payable and other benefits
(Medical Insurance) & Currency Adjustment Factor

6-Qualifications:
-A university degree in architecture with an emphasis on urban planning or with work-experience
in urban planning.
-Good working knowledge in the use of standard office software and specialized computer
applications related to the construction industry in general, including AutoCAD.
-At least five years relevant professional experience at national level, three years of which should
be in developing countries.
-Good command of written and spoken English and Arabic.

Competencies:
-Leadership, creativity and ability to take initiative.
-Familiarity with the culture of the refugees host countries.
-Knowledge of development, planning and architectural aspects in the Middle East.
-Ability to work under pressure.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
-Knowledge of regional practice and construction materials used in the area of operation.
-Experience in construction of low-cost housing in the Near East.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Possession of a valid driving license.
