Bethlehem Arab Society For Rehabilitation (BASR) is a non-profit non-government organization that is nationally
recognized for the comprehensive specialized inclusive health, rehabilitation and development programs and services it renders to the Palestinian population, particularly persons with disabilities, through its varied centre based, outreach and community based programs. BASR is currently seeking to fill the following position:

Position Title:Capacity Development Officer
Location:Beit-Jala
Contract:3 years.
Accountable To:Livelihood Project Coordinator

Key responsibilities:

-Design, implement and facilitate capacity building and empowerment activities, training, awareness raising workshops on various aspects of the rights of persons with disability, with special focus on the right to work and employment, targeting persons with disability, their families and respective organizations (DPOs and Parents Associations).
-Promote advocacy for the rights and needs of persons with disabilities.
-Organize community awareness and advocacy activities / campaigns as well as training programs in disability related fields.
-Write reports and prepare key documents and resource materials in relation to awareness raising, capacity building and advocacy programs.
-Maintains communication link and information flow between BASR, CBOs, DPOs and other stakeholders.


Qualifications:
-Bachelor degree in Social Sciences, Human Rights Studies, or relevant fields
-Proven experience in disability related capacity building and community work.
-Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing in both Arabic and English.
-Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
-Proven experience in building cooperative relationships.
-Ability to work under pressure
